Ciao Mio!

Today we said “until next time” to a great athlete and super human, Mio Katori . If you haven’t had the chance to meet Mio, let me tell you a little about her…Mio is a powerhouse of strength and positivity all packed in to 5 feet and 100 pounds. ( I am guesstimating on number here, but you get the picture.) Always with a smile and laugh Mio arrives at the gym and works hard from the warm up until the coach yells “TIME!” Mio is moving back to Boulder, CO. but promises us she will be back in the winter. Well wishes to you Mio, thanks for all you have brought to the tribe!

In case it has passed you by, the programming this week is very much geared toward our athletes competing in CrossFit Santa Fe’s first in school competition, the “330 Challenge.”  So for those of you who ARE competing, pay attention to your form and the loads you choose. Start thinking about ground to shoulder and shoulder to ground efficiency.  Those of you not competing this time around, pay attention to form as well, that goes without saying I know. Finals will be held next Saturday, 21 May 2011. Even if you are not competing please come and support your fellow athletes, it is fun and a great way to participate! Competition has a whole different feel from a regular CF class, the intensity is upped there is excitement in the air and an element of camaraderie that is heightened. See for yourself next Saturday at 10am and 1pm.

And now, drum roll please.-.-.-.-.-.- tomorrow’s Work Out of The Day.-.-.-.- 100m Run, 21,15,9 KB Swing, PushUp (games’ standard), PullUp, 100m Run

And one more thank you to our guest from Atlanta (another one) Simon!  Simon joined us for Tuesday’s workout and picked up a Heretic T-shirt after class, a fantastic and enthusiastic athlete, despite our killer altitude. Come back anytime Simon!

I’ll miss you Mio!!
